Free Haircuts, Fitness and Food on Tap as Saipan Businesses Unite for the Kids

SAIPAN — A local gym and a barbershop are teaming up to give Saipan’s youth a day of free services, fitness, food and community spirit, with a clothing drive running alongside the event to benefit children in need.

Latte Built 24hr Fitness and Fresh Cuts CNMI have partnered to host Youth “Be The Inspiration” Day on Monday, March 23, at Latte Built Gym in Chalan Kanoa. The event will offer free haircuts, fitness activities, food and community giveback opportunities for young people across the island.

Derek Cutting, owner and founder of Latte Built 24hr Fitness, said the collaboration grew out of a shared commitment to Saipan’s next generation.

“We’re both in the business of making people feel good about themselves,” Cutting said. “Jeff and I wanted to create something where kids could come in, get a fresh cut, get active, and leave feeling inspired. That’s what this day is all about.”

Jeffrey Hostacky of Fresh Cuts CNMI said the event is about more than just haircuts.

“A haircut gives a kid confidence,” Hostacky said. “That’s just the starting point. We want kids to see what’s possible when the community comes together for them.”

Alongside the event, the organizers are also collecting donations for a Youth Clothing Drive. New or gently used youth clothing and athletic shoes are being accepted at Latte Built Gym in Chalan Kanoa ahead of and during the event.

Youth “Be The Inspiration” Day is scheduled for Monday, March 23, at Latte Built 24hr Fitness in Chalan Kanoa. Admission is free and open to the community.
