Guam DYA Accepting Applications for Childcare Jobs Under Governor’s Summer Youth Employment Program

Applications available at three youth resource centers starting March 17; program runs June 1 through July 10

HAGATNA — The Guam Department of Youth Affairs will begin accepting applications March 17 for the childcare component of the Governor’s Summer Youth Employment Program, offering teens ages 15 to 17 the chance to work in daycare centers and summer camps this summer.

Applications will be available starting at 8:00 a.m. March 17 at three locations: Lagu Youth Resource Center in Dededo at 143 Catalina Lane, Kattan Youth Resource Center in Mangilao at 228 Teresita St., and Haya Youth Resource Center in Hagat at 321 Calle De Los Marteres. Applications will not be available online.

Completed applications will be accepted in person at the same location where they were obtained from April 17 through April 24, weekends excluded. Applicants must submit the completed DYA forms along with a copy of their photo ID, a copy of their parent or legal guardian’s photo ID and a copy of their Social Security card.

The childcare program is scheduled to run June 1 through July 10. Job duties include greeting children and parents, assisting with playtime, filing documents and light cleaning.
