DPL Transfers $12,500 Public Benefits Contribution to CNMI Carolinian Affairs Office From Managaha TOA

SAIPAN — The CNMI Department of Public Lands announced the handover of a $12,500 contribution to the CNMI Carolinian Affairs Office as part of the “Public Benefits” portion of the Sole Concessionaire terms of agreement for Managaha Island with SAI.

DPL said CNMI Carolinian Affairs official Vince Rabauliman accepted the check from DPL Real Estate Division Acting Director Mai Chong Mendiola, with DPL Secretary Sixto K. Igisomar and Director of Compliance Greg Deleon Guerrero present during the handover.

DPL said the contribution represents part of the Public Benefits provisions negotiated into the Managaha Island sole concessionaire agreement.

The department described Public Benefits as community-focused contributions voluntarily offered by the lessee and not required by law, but included in the contract through negotiations to provide additional value to the people of the CNMI from major land-use agreements.

DPL said such benefits may support cultural programs, youth initiatives, community services, and other public priorities. The department also thanked SAI for fulfilling its commitment and the Carolinian Affairs Office for its continued service to the community.
