CUC: Fuel Adjustment Charge unchanged for December 2025

SAIPAN — While the price of just about everything else in the Marianas is on the rise, the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation announced that its Fuel Adjustment Charge (FAC) will remain at $0.19706 per kWh for December 2025, holding steady despite higher fuel costs.

CUC said the increase in fuel costs would have raised the FAC to $0.23265 per kWh, but the corporation will not adjust the rate in accordance with the Commonwealth Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) FAC Stabilization Order dated March 6.

The FAC is one of two components of the electric charge and covers fuel and fuel-related purchases. The other component is the CUC base rate, which CUC said has not increased since April 2014 and supports personnel, operations, projects, debt service, and other non-fuel expenses.
