CUC Board to Take Up FAC, Rate Petition and Oversight Bills at Thursday Meeting

SAIPAN — The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation Board of Directors will hold its regular monthly meeting thisThursday, April 9, at 9:30 a.m. at the CUC Conference Room in the Joeten Dandan Building, with an agenda that includes the Fuel Adjustment Charge, a proposed rate petition and the status of pending oversight legislation.

The meeting comes amid a sustained public debate over CUC’s fuel costs and accountability, including a formal committee report and three letters to the editor from Representative Vincent R. Aldan calling for independent audits and legislative action before any further rate increases are approved.

Under old business, the board will take up FAC reconciliation, the proposed CUC rate petition, net metering policy, government and Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation receivables, an update on hotel power generation, and the status of proposed bills. The FAC also appears separately as a standalone agenda item.
