SAIPAN — The CNMI has formally brought the CNMI Scholarship and Financial Aid Office into the P20W (Preschool through Workforce) partnership, a move officials said will strengthen how the Commonwealth understands student pathways from high school through college and into the workforce.
Officials said CSFAO’s inclusion expands the CNMI’s capacity to responsibly connect scholarship and financial aid data with education and workforce information as the Statewide Longitudinal Data System continues to be developed.
P20W CNMI Executive Leadership voted on December 5, 2025 to approve CSFAO’s participation in the P20W Data Governance Committee, and CSFAO was officially onboarded by the CNMI SLDS team on January 16, 2026.
Geralyn DelaCruz, CNMI SLDS Data Governance Manager, said adding CSFAO helps give a fuller picture of student pathways and allows financial aid information to be responsibly connected to workforce outcomes.
CSFAO Administrator Mildred Sablan-Camacho said the office was eager to join the partnership and “excited to finally be at the table.”
Officials said the onboarding session introduced CSFAO leadership and data stewards to the P20W data governance structure, including roles and responsibilities under the P20W Data Governance Memorandum of Understanding, data privacy and security requirements, data transfer processes, and how integrated data may be used to inform future policy and program improvement.
CSFAO joins a growing list of P20W partners that includes CNMI PSS, Northern Marianas College, Northern Marianas Technical Institute, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Labor, and the Department of Finance.
Officials described the CNMI SLDS Program as a statewide initiative focused on collecting and integrating education and workforce data to support decision-making across the Commonwealth.
