CPA: Airports Remain Open but Flights Canceled; All CNMI Ports on PHWC Yankee

SAIPAN — The Commonwealth Ports Authority reported Sunday evening that all CNMI airports remain open but a wave of flight cancellations has effectively shut down air service to and from the islands through at least April 14 as Typhoon Sinlaku approaches, while all seaports have been placed on Port Heavy Weather Condition Yankee, prohibiting vessels from entering port.

T’Way Airlines canceled four flights between Incheon and Saipan spanning April 12 through April 14. Star Marianas Air suspended all flights between Saipan, Tinian and Rota beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday through April 15. Philippine Airlines canceled its Manila-Saipan and Saipan-Manila flights April 12 and 13. Hong Kong Airlines canceled its Hong Kong-Saipan-Hong Kong service April 13. United Airlines canceled multiple flights including Narita-Saipan and Saipan-Narita routes April 12 through 14, as well as Saipan-Guam and Guam-Saipan service April 13 and 14. Micronesian Air Connection Services canceled all flights April 13 and 14.

All CNMI seaports are on PHWC Yankee, meaning all vessels must be secured in port or at anchor and no vessels are permitted to enter port.

Travelers are advised to check directly with their airlines for rebooking information.
