CNMI Public School System posts January 2026 breakfast, lunch menus

SAIPAN —The CNMI Public School System’s Child Nutrition Program has posted its January 2026 breakfast and lunch menus for public schools, and students are still able to get their breakfast and lunch during holidays throughout the month.

The posted calendar lists no public school on Jan. 5, 12, and 19 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 20 and 26.

School lunches have come a long way from the days of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, as students will enjoy entrees that include chicken teriyaki, Marianas BBQ burger, beef bulgogi, spaghetti bolognese, Kung Pao Chicken 2.0, breaded chicken with gravy, pork ginger, chicken Alfredo penne pasta, BBQ chicken, sloppy joes, honey garlic chicken stir fry, beef lasagna, oven fried chicken, Thai beef noodle bowl, pork curry, and chicken adobo, typically paired with steamed rice or red rice, vegetables (including “local vegetables”), and fresh fruit.

Breakfast items listed across the month include pancakes with syrup, French toast with syrup, fried rice with Portuguese sausage, garlic fried rice with chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, toasted ham and cheese, assorted cereal, and Mac & Cheese 2.0, with several days also listing fresh fruit/fruit smoothie.

On select days, the schedule also lists “Secondary Second Choice” options, including items such as taco salad/taco meat with WGR tortilla chips, chicken kelaguen with titiyas, chef salad with ham and boiled egg, beef and broccoli, Korean chicken bowl, buffalo chicken sliders on a WGR dinner roll, chicken Caesar salad with WGR garlic bread and croutons, and kimchee fried rice with a chicken bowl.
