SAIPAN — The CNMI Government plans to request no-cost labor assistance from the U.S. Department of Defense’s Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) program, working through Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 133 (NMCB-133), to complete little-to-no-cost minor repairs at Public School System (PSS) facilities across Saipan, according to the Bureau of Military Affairs. The initiative aims to accelerate basic upkeep and safety fixes while budgets remain tight.
Contractors, labor unions, and private individuals may voice support or opposition to the proposed military assistance. Comments and questions should be directed to Ed Camacho, Special Assistant to the Governor for Military Affairs, (670) 488-0220, no later than 30 days after the first publication of this notice. Those who do not submit comments within the timeframe will be considered to have waived objections. The notice adds that CNMI leadership appreciates the timely help from military partners, citing the austere economic situation that has slowed infrastructure progress.
