SAIPAN — The CNMI Department of Labor is warning that roughly three-quarters of employers have not yet submitted required Census of Employment data, and is urging all businesses and organizations to file their first quarter 2025 reports before the April 30 deadline.
The department said the outstanding submissions represent both a compliance concern and a gap in the CNMI’s economic data infrastructure. Incomplete reporting limits the ability of policymakers and community leaders to develop informed workforce strategies and economic policies.
All employers operating in the CNMI are required to submit Census of Employment data, including government agencies, autonomous entities, nonprofit organizations and private businesses of any size. Government agencies and nonprofits are required to submit annually and are not subject to quarterly reporting. Companies with no employees are asked to submit an Affidavit of Zero Employees through the department’s online portal.
Employers who miss the deadline may face enforcement actions and could be denied a Certificate of Good Standing issued by the Department of Labor.
Submissions can be completed at labor.cnmi.gov under Employers, then Report Census of Employment. For questions, employers may contact the department at (670) 664-3196.
