SAIPAN — The CNMI Small Business Development Center Network will host a series of free federal contracting training sessions on Tinian and Saipan later this month in partnership with the Pacific Air Forces 356th Expeditionary Theater Support Group based at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam.
The training series kicks off on Tinian on Monday, March 23, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., then continues on Saipan on Wednesday, March 25, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. On Thursday, March 26, contracting officers will be available for one-on-one advising sessions with businesses needing more focused assistance. Venue locations for both islands are forthcoming.
Sessions are designed for small businesses, entrepreneurs and contractors interested in working with federal agencies, particularly those tied to Department of Defense activity in the region. Topics will include SAM.gov registration, navigating the federal procurement system, developing capabilities statements, and best practices for packaging bids and proposals.
Participants are asked to bring a personal laptop, a copy of their business license and official documents showing the physical address of their business.
“Federal contracting presents significant opportunities for businesses in the Commonwealth, especially as federal investment and activity in the region continues to grow,” said Nadine Deleon Guerrero Kintol, CNMI SBDC Network Director. “Take advantage of this rare opportunity to seek one-on-one advising and personalized training with contracting officers to build that bridge towards doing business with DOD and the Federal government.”
Registration is required and seating is limited. Participants are asked to register only if they can guarantee attendance.
