Seven CNMI High Schools Compete in 26th Annual Mock Trial Competition This Week

SAIPAN — The U.S. District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands, in partnership with the NMI Bar Association and the CNMI Public School System, is hosting the 26th Annual CNMI High School Mock Trial Competition Thursday and Friday at the United States Courthouse in Gualo Rai.

Seven high schools from Saipan, Tinian, and Rota are competing for the right to represent the Commonwealth at the National High School Mock Trial Championship in Des Moines, Iowa, in May 2026.

Four preliminary rounds are scheduled for Thursday, March 5, beginning at 8 a.m. The top two teams will return Friday, March 6, for the championship round starting at 8:15 a.m.

The public is invited to attend the awards ceremony Friday at 11 a.m. at the courthouse, where outstanding performances will be recognized and the Commonwealth’s national representative will be announced.
