SAIPAN — Representative Elias M. Rangamar is inviting community organizations, schools, sports clubs, villages, and partner agencies to participate in a paint distribution and island beautification effort called “Paint the Marianas: Far From Ordinary.”
Rangamar said the initiative is intended to support community-led projects that improve public spaces while reflecting the culture, environment, history, diversity, adventure, and sustainability of the islands. Participating groups may request paint supplies for beautification projects such as murals, recreational facilities, schools, parks, bus stops, and other shared community spaces.
Rangamar said the initiative is being supported through a donation of paint supplies from Full Circle Saipan. He said the Marianas Visitors Authority is also partnering in the effort by providing brand guidance and creative inspiration materials to applicants, including encouragement to reflect one or more Marianas brand pillars and, where appropriate, use approved brand colors and imagery.
International airline representatives are expected to conduct a site inspection of Saipan in the coming weeks as part of their evaluation of potential flight service to the CNMI. Rangamar said MVA is compiling a list of high-visibility areas in need of a facelift or fresh coat of paint, and that list may be shared with paint recipients who want to focus on priority locations.
Rangamar said the goal is to empower local groups to take ownership of their spaces while collectively presenting a CNMI that is welcoming, vibrant, and aligned with the “Far From Ordinary” identity.
He also encouraged groups to coordinate projects with MVA beautification priorities and provided contact information for follow-up.
