Foundation has donated $10,000 to the Northern Marianas College Foundation, signing on as the first platinum sponsor for the NMC Foundation’s 2026 Golf Open, scheduled for March 21–22.
Merlie Tolentino, executive director of the Tan Siu Lin Foundation, said the donation reflects the group’s view that education is one of the strongest long-term investments in the CNMI, and that supporting the Golf Open helps expand opportunities for students and community resilience.
NMC Foundation Chairperson Ben Babauta said the foundation’s continued support helps the college expand access to education and strengthen workforce development efforts across the Commonwealth.
NMC said the Golf Open is its signature fundraising event and is intended to raise funds to build and equip modern campus facilities aimed at workforce development and broader economic growth. The tournament is a two-day event, with registration set at $250 per player.
Companies and individuals who want to support the effort can donate educational tax credit, cash, or in-kind contributions through the tournament website, and golfers can register online. NMC said only online payments will be accepted
