SAIPAN — Northern Marianas Protection & Advocacy Systems, Inc. (NMPASI) is urging community members to understand their rights and reach out for support through its PAIMI program, Protection & Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness.
People diagnosed with a mental illness have human, civil, and legal rights under federal and local law, and should not be mistreated, denied services, or discriminated against because of a disability.
Through PAIMI, NMPASI can provide information about rights, advocacy and assistance for eligible individuals, and support in matters involving abuse, neglect, denial of services, or discrimination. The program’s services are confidential and provided at no cost to eligible individuals, NMPASI said.
For more information about PAIMI and eligibility, NMPASI can be reached at (670) 235-7273/74, by email at gborja@nmpasi.org, or online at nmpasi.org. NMPASI is located at Marianas Business Plaza, 5th Floor, Room 505.
