SAIPAN — Gov. David M. Apatang hosted a delegation from Korea University on January 15 to discuss a potential partnership with Northern Marianas College, an effort the administration says could expand educational opportunities and support the CNMI’s growing educational tourism sector.
The Governor’s Office said the visiting delegation was led by Chairman Changduk Jung, Ph.D., and that talks centered on establishing a formal “sister university” relationship between Korea University and NMC.
Apatang said the administration is looking to open new doors for students while diversifying the economy, and said a partnership with Korea University would help elevate NMC and position the CNMI as a regional hub for educational exchange.
The Governor’s Office said it will continue technical and strategic discussions with NMC leadership in the coming months as the parties work toward formalizing the partnership.
