GSYEP Interns Launch Donation Drive for Youth in Need

HAGÅTÑA, Guam — Interns in the Governor’s Summer Youth Employment Program (GSYEP) are taking action for their peers with a community-wide donation drive to support students and families in need. The effort runs July 16–18, with collection points at GovGuam agencies and the Guam State Clearinghouse in Adelup.

📦 What to Donate

Notebooks, pens, and school supplies

Toiletries and undergarments

Bedding and clothing

First aid kits

All donations will benefit local nonprofit partners, including Sanctuary Inc., Harvest House, and the Department of Youth Affairs.

“This is what leadership looks like,” said Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio. “Our youth are learning service, organizing real solutions, and stepping up for each other.”

GSYEP is a 6-week program for youth ages 15 to 17, giving them firsthand experience in government, leadership, and community impact. This year, interns chose to focus on back-to-school needs—continuing the tradition of giving back.
