DPL: Tinian agriculture homestead permits under legal review; applicants urged to update records

TINIAN — The CNMI Department of Public Lands’ Tinian District Office says homestead permits tied to last year’s Agriculture Homestead Lottery held August 19–20, 2025 are currently undergoing legal review to ensure legal sufficiency and compliance with applicable rules and regulations.

DPL said that once an Agriculture Homestead Permit is issued, applicants will be required to pay a $100 permit fee under NMIAC § 145-20.3-125(c), and permits must also be properly notarized by the applicant.

The department also reminded Village Homestead applicants from the 2009 lottery who have not yet received their permits to contact the DPL Tinian District Office to update the information on file.

To keep the process moving, DPL urged all existing Agriculture and Village Homestead applicants to update their records if anything has changed since their original application, including mailing address, contact numbers, marital status, or other information that affects eligibility or records. DPL warned that failing to keep information current may lead to processing delays or exclusion from future agriculture or village homestead distributions.

Applicants visiting the DPL Tinian District Office were asked to bring a valid government-issued photo ID along with any documentation supporting updated information.
