Registration opens for Rota Marathon 2026; early-bird rates available through Dec. 31

SAIPAN — The most beautiful running event in the Marianas is coming, and online registration is now open for the 2026 Rota Marathon 2026. Runners from across the globe will descend upon the island of Rota when the race kicks off on Saturday, January 31, 2026. If they register now, they can save a bundle in the process.

The Marianas Visitors Authority and the Office of the Mayor of Rota have teamed up to bring the event backm and early-bird pricing is $25 for the full marathon, $20 for the half marathon, and $15 for the 5K through the end of the year. Those discounted rates disappear once the fireworks ring in the new year, so interested runners are advised to register at https://mva.mymarianas.com/rota-marathon-registration.

Participants will receive an official Rota Marathon shirt, a printed finisher’s certificate, and be treated to a one of a kind awards dinner buffet at the iconic Rota Roundhouse on race day. MVA said cash prizes will be awarded to top overall finishers (1st–3rd) in male and female divisions for the full marathon ($400/$300/$200), half marathon ($300/$200/$100), and 5K ($200/$150/$100). Full marathon participants must be 18 or older.

This year’s marathon and half marathon will feature a course change from last year, starting north “under the stars” along Rota’s western lagoon before returning south to finish in Songsong. The 5K route will remain along Sasanhaya Bay. MVA noted Rota air service is available via STAR Marianas and Micronesian Air Connection Services.
