Dededo, GUAM — Day Three of the WBSC U-15 Men’s Baseball Oceania Championship 2025 was postponed Sunday due to wet field conditions at the Dededo Sports Complex, with opening-round play set to resume today as teams close out pool competition.
The weather delay halted a scheduled slate of games for the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and Australia, giving teams an extra day before the final matchups are played. Australia enters the final day unbeaten at 4–0, while the NMI sits second in the standings at 2–2, ahead of Guam at 0–4.
As play resumes, several NMI players rank among the tournament’s statistical leaders on both sides of the ball. Kayden Lee Agulto Lizama stands second overall in batting average at .769, trailing only Australia’s Rylan Cole Ottoway (.883). Donray Abholmar Lizama also appears among the top hitters at .500, while Leighton Jayce Tomokane-Tenorio (.250), Ezekiel Samson Iguel (.222), and Caleb Joshua Arriola Cabrera (.200) remain listed among the tournament’s offensive leaders, as well.
On the mound, the NMI is similarly represented. Preston Kenmar Somol Santos ranks among the strikeout leaders (4), while Twisormel Devon Jay Fitial Taisakan (3.2) and Kaleb Jose DeLeon Guerrero Reyes (3.0) are listed among the top pitchers in innings pitched. Fitial is also among the ERA leaders (9.55) as teams head into the final day of opening-round play.
Today’s game between the NMI and Guam will be for bragging rights as Australia is heading into the next phase of the World Cup by virtue of their unblemished record through their first four games. Coverage of NMI games will be broadcast by the NMI News Service, with baseball correspondent Chuck Cabrera providing play-by-play and updates throughout the day.
