SAIPAN — San Antonio residents awoke to the sound of sirens and the smell of smoke as firefighters brought a structure fire under control this morning along Hiyok Street.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services was alerted to the a single‑story blaze when residents called 911 and alerted the first responders to the blaze. Shortly thereafter, firefighters arrived at the scene and completely extinguished the flames in the semi‑concrete building within 30 minutes.
No injuries were mentioned and the cause remains under investigation. Investigators from the Division of Fire Prevention and Arson Investigation (DFPAI) responded and will release their findings at a later date.
