Retiree benefit payments delayed for some accounts; Bank of Hawaii deposits posted this morning

SAIPAN — The NMI Settlement Fund and the Department of Finance said some retiree benefit payments scheduled for October 15 were delayed due to the timing of a 25% transfer from the CNMI Treasury and an intervening U.S. federal bank holiday.

According to the agencies, retirees with Bank of Hawaii accounts received their payments this morning (as of 9 a.m.). Deposits to other financial institutions are expected to post later this evening or by no later than Thursday morning, October 16, 2025.

Officials said the Settlement Fund received the 25% portion of the payment on Tuesday, October 14. Because of the deposit timing and Monday’s federal holiday in the mainland United States and Hawaii, Bank of Hawaii was unable to process 100% of the scheduled payments by the intended date.

Both agencies apologized for the inconvenience and asked retirees to monitor official updates. For inquiries, the Department of Finance can be reached at (670) 664-1100 or info@dof.gov.mp
