Saipan Mayor’s Office launches cemetery cleanup ahead of All Souls and Saints Day

SAIPAN – The Saipan Mayor’s Office is preparing the Chalan Kanoa Cemetery for All Souls Day and All Saints Day by leading a cleanup and beautification project. Mayor Ramon “RB” Camacho and his staff have already begun clearing debris and removing trash around grave sites and access areas.

The mayor is calling on residents to join the effort, saying this is an opportunity for the community to honor departed loved ones while working together to improve Saipan’s largest cemetery.

“This is a chance for all of us to come together for a common good,” the mayor said. “We not only work to beautify a sacred area but also to honor and remember our dearly departed loved ones.”

The cleanup also includes support from the CNMI Office of Adult Probation. Probationers are assisting as part of their community service, giving them the opportunity to make a positive contribution. Mayor Camacho personally met with participants, encouraging them to use this project to redirect their lives and rebuild trust with the community.

The Mayor’s Office encourages residents to join the ongoing cemetery cleanup whenever they have spare time. Staff will be present at the Chalan Kanoa Cemetery to support community members who wish to help.
