SAIPAN — The CNMI Department of Commerce, Office of the Insurance Commissioner will host a free Insurance Assistance Day on Friday, June 12, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Mari Bar at Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan, giving policyholders direct access to insurance companies as they recover from Super Typhoon Sinlaku.
The event, held in partnership with member companies of the Northern Marianas Insurance Association, is part of the office’s ongoing consumer outreach following the storm. It will be conducted in an exhibit-style format, with attendees able to visit individual insurance company tables for one-on-one assistance tailored to their needs.
Members of the public can meet with participating insurers to discuss claims, policy coverage, deductibles, benefits, documentation requirements and other concerns. Representatives from the Office of the Insurance Commissioner will also be on hand to answer questions about consumer protections and the claims process.
“Following a disaster, it is important that policyholders have access to accurate information and assistance regarding their insurance coverage and claims,” said Secretary of Commerce and Insurance Commissioner Remedio C. Mafnas. “This event will provide residents with an opportunity to connect directly with insurance companies, ask questions, and better understand the resources available to them during the recovery process.”
The event is free and open to the public with no registration required. For more information, contact Insurance Administrator Maryann Borja-Arriola at (670) 785-6364.
