SWEEP Sets June 12 Deadline for Typhoon Debris Removal Assistance

SAIPAN — Residents seeking help removing post-typhoon debris through the Saipan-Wide Environmental Enhancement Program must submit their requests no later than June 12, the CNMI Department of Public Works said.

The program, known as SWEEP, is continuing to assist residents with debris removal in coordination with FEMA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, DPW said.

SWEEP is available for elderly residents, medically vulnerable residents, and those unable to safely move debris to the curb. Accepted materials include vegetative debris, construction and demolition debris, sheet metal, electronics, household hazardous waste, and appliances and white goods.

Residents seeking assistance can call the DPW Solid Waste Office at (670) 235-9570.
