SAIPAN — Ten rapid-deployment homes donated to families who lost everything to Super Typhoon Sinlaku have arrived on Saipan, the housing company behind the project announced.
ReadyPod President Amanda Breslin and Construction Director Ryan Andersen met with Gov. David M. Apatang as the BoxHouse units reached the island. The homes, which range from fully equipped bungalows to open-floor-plan units, are being donated outright to displaced families.
The company said it activated immediately after Sinlaku struck Saipan and Tinian in April with winds of more than 155 mph, coordinating the transportation, permitting, nonprofit partners, and on-island logistics needed to bring the units to the Commonwealth. It described the effort as complex but exactly what the homes are built for.
The company credited local organizations and CNMI leadership for their support and the partners who made the delivery possible.
