SAIPAN — The Marianas Visitors Authority Board of Directors will hold its regular meeting Wednesday morning, with Super Typhoon Sinlaku recovery funding, an office relocation, and a reconsidered Korea summer air service contract on the agenda.
The meeting will be held at the MVA Conference Room on Wednesday, May 27, at 9:30 a.m. The Finance Committee will present the fiscal year 2026 April fund status report and seek approval to reprogram municipalities’ Tourism Month budgets to municipalities others for Typhoon Sinlaku recovery efforts.
New business includes a request from the Administrative Services Division to reprogram funds from reserves for MVA office relocation and renovations. The Executive Division will present Board Resolution No. MVA-2026-002-BR, which covers the relocation of the MVA office and authorization for the MVA Managing Director to submit a lease application to the Department of Public Lands, act on behalf of the board for lease processing and negotiations, and sign on the lease agreement.
The Executive Division will also bring forward discussion and action on temporary consulting support during an executive transition.
The Marketing Division will seek approval to reprogram funds from building reserve funds to participate in the Japan Travel and Tourism Expo, and will hold a discussion and action regarding the status of contracts for offshore offices for fiscal year 2027.
Under old business, the Marketing Division will bring up discussion and action regarding the reconsideration and approval of revised terms and conditions for a sole-source contract for Korea summer air service continuity and reprogramming of building reserve funds. The division will also seek approval to amend a board action approved on April 8 for Philippine market development funding source.
