FEMA Deadline to Apply for Sinlaku Disaster Assistance Is June 22

SAIPAN – FEMA is reminding Super Typhoon Sinlaku survivors that the deadline to apply for federal disaster assistance is Monday, June 22, FEMA spokesperson Veronica Verde said.

Survivors who experienced damage or losses from the storm should not wait to apply, Verde said. Even those with insurance may still be eligible for FEMA assistance for disaster-related expenses not covered by their insurance, she said.

Applying can help FEMA determine what assistance an applicant may qualify for, including help with temporary housing, home repairs, personal property losses, and other disaster-related needs, Verde said.

Survivors can apply online at disasterassistance.gov, by calling the FEMA helpline at 1-800-621-3362 or (671) 735-1050, or by visiting the Survivor Recovery Center for in-person assistance, Verde said.

Applicants who have already submitted should continue checking their mail, email, or FEMA account for updates or requests for additional information, Verde said.
