SAIPAN – Partly cloudy skies with isolated showers are expected across the Marianas on Tuesday, with east winds of 15 to 20 mph and afternoon gusts to 30 mph, the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam said in its 6 a.m. zone forecast.
Highs will reach around 88 degrees Tuesday with overnight lows near 78. The chance of showers is 20%.
A high rip current risk remains in effect through Tuesday afternoon along east-facing reefs. Beachgoers and swimmers should use caution on east-facing shorelines.
Combined seas across Marianas coastal waters out to 40 nautical miles will run 6 to 8 feet Tuesday, with an east swell at 7 feet at 9 seconds combined with a 4-foot east swell at 6 seconds, NWS said.
Conditions are expected to hold through midweek. Wednesday and Thursday will see partly cloudy skies with isolated showers, east winds of 15 to 20 mph, highs around 87 and lows near 78. The chance of showers is 20% both days.
Moderate to fresh easterlies will prevail across the region through the rest of the week and possibly drop to moderate over the weekend, NWS said. Combined seas are expected to taper down a foot or two in the latter half of the week.
At Tanapag Harbor on Saipan, the next high tide is at 7:44 a.m. at 2.3 feet, followed by a low tide of negative 0.8 feet at 3:40 p.m. and a high tide of 2.5 feet at 11:46 p.m.
On Tinian, high tide is at 8:01 a.m. at 2.0 feet, low tide at 3:14 p.m. at negative 0.2 feet, and another high at 11:07 p.m. at 2.0 feet.
On Rota, high tide is at 8:00 a.m. at 2.5 feet, low tide at 3:31 p.m. at negative 0.6 feet, and another high at 11:06 p.m. at 2.5 feet.
