SAIPAN – Partly cloudy skies with isolated light showers are in the forecast for Saipan, Tinian and Rota on Friday, with east winds 10 to 15 mph and highs around 87 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam.
The chance of showers Friday stands at 10 percent. Conditions turn breezy Friday night, with east winds increasing to 15 to 20 mph, lows around 77 degrees, and the chance of showers rising to 20 percent.
Saturday and Sunday continue the partly cloudy pattern with isolated showers, east winds 15 to 20 mph, highs around 87 and lows around 78. The 20 percent shower chance carries through Sunday night and Monday night.
The Marianas coastal waters forecast calls for winds to gradually increase to moderate to fresh today through the weekend as the trades return. Combined seas will remain 3 to 5 feet through Friday, then quickly increase to between 5 and 7 feet around Saturday as a building trade swell moves in.
