SAIPAN — The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library is temporarily closed to the public until further notice because of impacts and ongoing safety concerns from Super Typhoon Sinlaku, the library said.
Library administration and staff are assessing conditions, damages and cleaning to ensure facilities are safe before reopening, according to a press release.
Late fees will not be applied for borrowed materials during the closure period, the library said. Patrons are encouraged to safely hold on to their items until normal operations resume.
Updates on reopening and library services will be shared through the library’s official communication channels and social media.
“The safety and well-being of our patrons, staff, and community remain our highest priority as our island continues recovery efforts following the storm,” the library said.
