6,000 Hygiene Kits Headed to Sinlaku-Hit Communities; 2,000 Bound for Saipan via Ayuda Foundation

SAIPAN — A Guam-based nonprofit will distribute 6,000 hygiene kits across Guam, Saipan and Chuuk for Super Typhoon Sinlaku recovery, including 2,000 kits bound for Saipan through a partnership with Ayuda Foundation, Be Heartfelt announced.

The kits were donated by Heart to Heart International, a global humanitarian organization, and are scheduled to arrive in Guam on Thursday via United Airlines, Be Heartfelt said. Heart to Heart coordinated the air shipment in partnership with FedEx.

The kits will be distributed in three roughly equal portions: 2,000 in Guam, 2,000 to Saipan and 2,000 to Chuuk, the organization said.

Pacific Unlimited Trucking will pick up the pallets from the airport and assist with distribution to designated locations across the region.

In Guam, the Guam Department of Education Outreach Team will distribute kits to students and children affected by Sinlaku, Be Heartfelt said.

The Saipan and Chuuk distributions will move through Ayuda Foundation, the Guam-based humanitarian logistics nonprofit led by Carlota Leon Guerrero.

“These hygiene kits represent so much more than supplies,” said Lori Marble, founder of Be Heartfelt. “They are a reminder to families across our islands that they are seen, loved and not forgotten during difficult times.”

Marble thanked Heart to Heart International, Ayuda Foundation, Pacific Unlimited Trucking and the Guam Department of Education Outreach Team for the coordinated effort.

Be Heartfelt said the kits will provide essential personal care items for children and families continuing to recover from the storm.
