SAIPAN — When Super Typhoon Sinlaku left families in the worst conditions, Madge Gai was already on her way to them.
Working directly with the hardest-hit households across the community, Gai has been delivering hot meals sourced from local vendors, tarps, lights, food, water and cash to families in desperate need, funded by donors on and off island who have supported her work throughout the recovery.
“She’s an amazing woman with an incredible spirit and giving heart,” said Leith Poole, a viewer who submitted the story to NMI News Service as part of our Show Us the Good campaign.
