SAIPAN — When the Unique Pieces 670 Autism Support Group put out a call on social media asking the community for diaper donations for special needs families in need, the response came quickly.
Jennifer Mitchell, known on Facebook as Isla View, answered the call and dropped off boxes of diapers in multiple sizes for children in the special needs community still navigating the challenges of recovery from Super Typhoon Sinlaku.
The group said it had been receiving multiple requests from families who needed diapers and turned to the community for help. The donation is one of many examples of neighbors stepping up for vulnerable residents during the recovery period.
