Gov. Leon Guerrero to Lead Guam’s Delegation at 2026 SelectUSA Investment Summit

HAGÅTÑA — Governor Lourdes A. Leon Guerrero will travel to National Harbor, Maryland next week to lead Guam’s delegation at the 2026 SelectUSA Investment Summit, hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce from May 3 through 6 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center.

The summit, the highest-profile event in the United States dedicated to promoting foreign direct investment, is expected to draw more than 5,500 attendees representing investors from more than 100 countries and economic development organizations from all 56 U.S. states and territories. The Guam Economic Development Authority will staff an exhibition booth on the floor, presenting investors with the island’s suite of incentives including its Qualifying Certificate program, its strategic position as the westernmost point of the United States, and the ongoing multi-billion-dollar federal defense buildup.

“Guam is open for business, and events like the SelectUSA Investment Summit give us the platform to tell our story directly to the investors who can help diversify our economy and create jobs for our people,” said Governor Leon Guerrero. “Every time we come to this summit, we return home with new partnerships, new commitments, and new momentum.”

GEDA Administrator Christina D. Garcia and members of the authority’s investment promotion team will accompany the governor. The 2026 summit coincides with the celebration of America’s 250th birthday.

Guam has participated in SelectUSA annually under the Leon Guerrero-Tenorio Administration since 2019. Since the program was established in 2011, SelectUSA has facilitated more than $256 billion in investment, supporting more than 130,000 jobs across the United States and its territories.

“The investments we seek at SelectUSA are not just numbers on a balance sheet — they are hotels that employ our neighbors, renewable projects that lower our energy costs, and businesses that give our young people a reason to stay and build their futures here on island,” the governor added.
