COTA Has Completed 261 Emergency Transports Since Sinlaku; Essential Trips Only on Saipan and Tinian

SAIPAN — The Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority has completed 261 emergency transports since Typhoon Sinlaku, including 111 medical trips, 85 shelteree transports, 37 airport runs and 18 military transports, according to a service update issued Friday covering April 10 through April 24.

COTA remains activated in support of the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management Operations Center for shelter transportation and other recovery transportation needs.

Call-A-Ride Rota is fully operational. Call-A-Ride Saipan and Tinian are restricted to essential trips only — hemodialysis, prescription refills, clinic visits and scheduled appointments.

Fixed Route Blue Line 1B remains suspended until roads are safe and accessible. COTA crews are working to clear debris near bus stops.
