SAIPAN — The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation has officially cancelled the precautionary boil water notice for the island of Rota effective Thursday, April 23, after water samples collected April 22 from the treated Main Cave water system came back free of total coliform and E. coli bacteria.
The boil water notice remains in effect for Saipan and Tinian. Residents on those islands are advised to boil all water for at least three minutes before use or to use bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice.
