Shear line keeps CNMI wet and windy after heavy rain floods parts of Saipan
SAIPAN — A shear line sitting across the Commonwealth is keeping the CNMI in a wet, gusty pattern this week after between 5-7 inches of rain fell over Saipan on Monday, triggering some flooding, according to the National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office Guam in its weekly regional outlook issued Tuesday afternoon.
CNMI DOL hosts MSHA compliance presentation ahead of February assistance visits
SAIPAN — The CNMI Department of Labor, working with the Mine Safety and Health Administration, hosted a mine-safety compliance assistance presentation on January 23 at the American Memorial Park Indoor Amphitheater, as MSHA prepares for a Courtesy Compliance Assistance Visit expected to begin sometime in February.
