Road Closure Notice

SAIPAN – The Saipan Mayor’s Office will close both north and southbound lanes of Chalan Pale Arnold Road in the “Thousand Foot Curve” section on Friday, Oct. 10, from 9:30am to 11:30am for tree-cutting operations. The work zone runs from Shell Puerto Rico to near the Mobil station in Sadog Tasi.

Motorists should follow posted safety signage and use the designated bypass route during the closure. The Mayor’s Office says the temporary shutdown is necessary to address safety hazards for drivers.

The operation is being conducted by the Mayor’s Office Field Operations Division in coordination with DPW Roads and Grounds, CUC Power Distribution, and DPS Highway Patrol.

NMBA Launches Redesigned Website to Promote Badminton in the Marianas

Now the Northern Marianas Badminton Association (NMBA) has unveiled its redesigned website, offering a modern platform to showcase the sport’s growth and connect with players, schools, and fans in the Marianas and beyond.

RUN PARADISE: Saipan Marathon 2026 set for March 7 in The Marianas

SAIPAN – A day after announcing the return of the Hell of the Marianas 100km cycling event, the Marianas Visitors Authority (MVA) announced the return of the Saipan Marathon on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Once again, runners from around the world will descend upon Saipan to race along turquoise seas, lush tropical greenery, and historic World War II sites in The Marianas. The annual event features a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K, with online registration opening in October 2025 at raceroster.com.

America250 Flag Ceremony Postponed

SAIPAN – The CNMI America250 Commission, in partnership with the Office of the Governor, announced the postponement of the Flag Ceremony entitled “The Marianas: Red, White, and Blue – Falúwasch: Parapar, Bweschebwesch, me Arawaraw | i Tano’-ta: Agaga’, Å’paka’, yan Åsut.”
